Of course we all knew that Andrea Bocelli can sing great. But I don't think so many people know that he and his brother Alberto run the wine empire. The winery of Bocelli is located in the beautiful Tuscan hills, near San Gimignano. Wine has been made here for more than 3 generations. And not just wine, on the contrary, really fantastic white and red wines. The Bocelli's only produce a limited number of bottles and normally these wines are actually only on the wine list of the better restaurants and only available to a very limited extent for consumers.
The Bocelli Sangiovese Rosso is a 100% Sangiovese. The fermentation takes place in stainless steel barrels and maturation for 9-12 months of oak foudres. The wine is full bodied with fine-grain typical Sangiovese tannins. In the nose, the wine is intense with a spicy aroma of cherries and rhubarb compote. On the palate it is also a powerhouse with present tannins. All in all a sturdy, pleasant farmer's glass of wine that screams for a nice piece of roasted or grilled meat. The price / quality of this Bocelli is excellent.
All Bocelli wines are produced according to the principle of organic cultivation (but because of very complicated regulations / bureaucracy are not certified organic). The grapes are picked by hand and no pesticides or other chemicals are used.
The Bocelli winery is located in the beautiful Tuscan hills, near San Gimignano. Wine has been made here for more than 3 generations. And not just any wine, on the contrary, really fantastic white and red wines. The Bocelli family used to work here for Prince Corsini. Little by little they bought this land and built a house. Sandro (Alberto and Andrea's father) was crazy about the land, on the ground and he (like his father Alcide) completely gave himself to the land. She called herself the poets of the ground! Alberto also has this extraordinary passion and enthusiasm. Together with his wife Cinzia and his brother Andrea, they have been working since 2000 on new ideas, new wines and grape bushes that belong here, belong in Tuscany. The wines produced here are considered a gift from the ground!
The estate is about 120 hectares, of which a small part is wooded and the other part is planted with vines and olives.
The driving forces at the moment are Alberto and his wife Cinzia, while the fantastic tenor Andrea is the one with the fine nose and thus also tastes the wines.
