2017 Albamar Ribeira Sacra NAI
Only the best grapes are used from different plots of at least 25 years of age in the area of the River Cabe, in Ferreira de Panton. The vineyards are located on soils with a steep slope of granite and slate and this minerality is reflected in the wine. The wine is raised with a temperature-controlled fermentation and then receives 12 months of upbringing. A beautiful 100% mencia. Only 1300 bottles were made of this NAI in its beautiful bottle.
Lots of red fruit (cherry, red currant) and an extremely refined acidity. This medium bodied wine is fresh and elegant and is an ideal lunch wine. As with many mencia wines, light-cooled (around 15 degrees) is the ideal drinking temperature. Round and structured and smooth. The Albamar NAI is a pleasant elegant wine. 93/100 James Suckling
