Acoustic Celler: The Winery

Albert Jané started a few years ago with this small family business in the DO Montsant, the area surrounding the DO Priorat. He has named the bodega Acustic, acoustic, because he believes in working with his wines as pure and unenhanced as possible. The grapes are grown organically and all the work in the vineyard and also the picking is manual. He works with barrels of French oak with a very light toasting. The grape must continue to dominate.

Acústic is both the name of the bodega and the entry-level wine of this domain. This name was chosen because Albert wants to be one with the region, the terroir and nature, and want to reflect its authenticity in his wines. Viticulture and vinification takes place in the purest form; they work here according to biodynamic wine-growing techniques without faltering.

The meaning of Brao is strength and bravery, this has not directly to do with the character of the wine but with the vines. The very old Garnaxta and Samsó vines from which this wine is made have a fairly low yield but still give very good grapes. Manual picking in baskets, selection on the vine and in the bodega. After maceration and fermentation, the wine is aged in French oak for 10 to 11 months. In the glass, the Brao is deep red, almost opaque. In the nose there are obvious notes of dark fruit and cocoa. The mouth consists of a fruity complex structure with a long finish where Mediterranean herbs are clearly present. A strong wine from the winery Acustic Celler.
