The Knipser brothers presented their first red wines of international standard as early as the early 1980s. Since then, they have been fully committed to perfecting the vineyard methods and thus to the quality of the wine. Their focus is Große Gewächse Riesling and Pinot Noir. Weingut Knipser located in Laumersheim in the second largest wine region of Germany, Pfalz. Knipser has been chosen several times as the best winemaker in Germany.
Knipser is known for its many excellent wines from different types of grape varieties such as; Spätburgunder, St. Lauren, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling, Grauburgunder, Weissburgunder, Gewürztraminer and even the Bordeaux grape varieties Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon!! A wide range of grape varieties, allowing him to produce different types of wines from styles such as Burgundy to Bordeaux from one area of origin. 95% of the wines are dry, mainly from traditional grape varieties, these are accompanied by wines from non-indigenous varieties, but with a Palatinate interpretation.
The Riesling Trocken Lime Marl from Knisper enchants with its softness, minerality and delicate fruit. Nice light straw yellow, good acidity. A wine that will become even more beautiful with age. Ideal with many sushi dishes, including seafood such as fresh mussels or Asian-style tiger prawns.
The Knipser winery is a family-owned business that has been producing wines since 1876. The current generation of winemakers, brothers Volker and Werner Knipser, continue the tradition and have further enhanced the winery's reputation. Knipser is located in the Pfalz region, one of Germany's major wine regions. The Pfalz is known for its mild climate and fertile soils, making it ideal for cultivating various grape varieties.

The Pinot Noir (Spätburgunder) and Riesling grapes come from various vineyards around Laumerheim. We also feature premium wines such as the Kirschgarten Spätburgunder Grosses Gewächs and the Laumersheim Steinbuckel Riesling Grosses Gewächs. The Steinbuckel Riesling Grosses Gewächs from Knipser is the Grand Cru among Rieslings. The Riesling grapes come from a small vineyard located in the Pfalz on a substrate of marl and limestone.
