2016 Valdesil Pedrouzos Magnum

This prestigious Pedrouzos comes from a legendary vineyard! The oldest Godello vineyard in existence. Planted in 1885 at an altitude of about 500 meters by great-grandfather José Ramón Gayoso. This extraordinary jewel of a wine has further expanded the reputation of the already great winery Valdesil . Only a maximum of 300 magnums of each vintage of this wine are bottled, so when you get your hands on one of these bottles, you really have a very special item in your hands.

This really excellent white wine shows nice subtle notes of melon, pear and sweet fruit on the nose. Drinking this wine is an experience in itself! The taste is very intense, like a true explosion in the mouth, with fine (oak) wood tones and a hint of ginger. Complex, very well balanced, minerally with excellent acidity. The wine has a nice long, dry and silky finish.

The processing of this wine received a lot of time, care and attention in order to let the quality of the great terroir and the grapes speak even better. Only wild yeast was used, and the wine was poured into 500 liter barrels without undergoing malolactic fermentation. After that, the wine remains in peace for 4-5 years in the barrels, and then another 6 months in the bottle. The 1.5 liter bottle is in a beautiful box and is a jewel on the table.

This Pedrouzos is excellent company for a good dinner. Combines very well with fish dishes such as fried white fish, bouillabaisse, cod, grilled fish, oysters, fish soup, rice dishes and stews with fish.
