2016 Raen Royal St Robert Cuvee Pinot Noir

With this Royal St. Robert Cuvée, the brothers Carlo and Dante Mondavi honor their grandfather Robert Mondavi, who taught them to always strive for perfection. Carlo and Dante founded Raen Winery in 2013 with the goal of producing world-class Pinot Noir on the western hills of the Sonoma coast. And believe us, this wine has certainly succeeded.

The wine is made from a selection of the very best barrels, which give a glimpse into the cool and rugged western hills of the Sonoma Coast in California. The wine has beautiful aromas of freshly cut wild strawberries, rose petals and hibiscus flowers on the nose. The intense flavors of dark cherries, strawberry, white tea, thyme, sweet resin and forest soil give this wine a full, spicy taste. It also has a mineral tone (crushed stone). A medium body wine with a long, full finish. 100% Pinot Noir, bottled unfiltered.

The wine has aged for 10 months in 60-liter barrels of French oak (10% new, air-dried French oak for 4 years and 90% neutral French oak barrels). Bottled without filtration.

Excellent wine with beef, veal, game dishes (deer) and poultry.
