The 2016 IX Proprietary Red Estate is a blend of 68% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Cabernet Franc, 10% Merlot and 7% Petit Verdot. Deep garnet-purple, comes out of the glass with blueberry compote and plum pudding in the nose plus hints of spice cake, non-smoked cigars, menthol, licorice and dusty soil and accentuated by black tea. The taste is full, but incredibly balanced and lively with an amazing freshness and very fine, very firm tannins. It possesses the most provocative earthly sparks, giving the very long, nicely perfumed aftertaste depth. Stupefying. If you wish to drink it in the short term, we recommend decanting it so that the wine can show its true character. This wine can be imposed for a minimum of 30+ years and is one of the very rare wines that has received the maximum score from both Parker and James Suckling.

James Suckling: 100 points
Parker: 100 points
