The Château de Lavagnac 2018 La Grand Dame de Château Lavagnac is a top Bordeaux Supérieur. A blend of 90% Merlot with 10% Cabernet Franc, the wine comes from the best plots of the estate. The wine is produced organically and has had 12 months of education in new French oak. It has developed rapidly with ripe fruit now mature and tannins softening. In the nose wonderfully accessible fresh raspberries with hints of graphite and stone (mineral). Medium to full-bodied with ripe fruit tones and a fine hint of spice. Drink from 2022 and enjoy for at least a decade. Unprecedented good quality for this price and the wine has also received 90/100 points from James Suckling.
