The domain of Château de Fonbel is located in the heart of the Saint-Emilion appellation and is owned by the Vauthier family, also the owner of the prestigious Château Ausone. Beautiful (still affordable) Grandcru Saint Emilion A very good St.-Emilion Grandcru with notes of cedar wood, roasted herbs, lavender, black cherries and spices. The wine has had upbringing on oak for 20 months. You will find slightly southern Rhône-like aromatics in this wine. However, in the mouth the wine is a classic Bordeaux, with moderate tannins, medium bodied and good freshness and precision. Drink it for the next 15 years. 91/100 Parker points got the 2016. One of the highest scores for this beautiful (and still affordable) Bordeaux
