2018 Catherine en Pierre Breton Bourgueil Epaule Jete

Now a global brand and one of the great references from the Loire. Catherine & Pierre Breton grow and produce the wine in a bio-dynamic way. The vines are an average of 15 years old and the terroir is a pebble clay soil on a limestone plateau. The grapes are picked manually and soaked for 18 days at a low temperature so that the primary aromas are beautifully preserved. Fermentation takes place without the addition of sulfur / sulfite.

The Epaulé Jeté by Catherine & Pierre Breton is a red wine that should be served slightly chilled and then the fresh aromas of red currants come out beautifully. The structure is complex but pleasantly light and fruity. The Breton believes that what is a 'strong wine' should generate gluttony and should not be a boarded-up log. Refined, very pleasant to drink and suitable as a red wine for lunch / brunch or as an aperitif or delicious with a fruit dessert.
