2015 Château Rocheyron Saint-Émilion Grand Cru

This beautiful Saint Emilion from Chateau Rocheyron is a blend of the 70% Merlot and 30% Cabernet Franc grapes. The fermentation takes place with temperature control in concrete cuves with regular remontages. Aging of 14 months on French barriques, 30% of which are new.

Garnet-purple in color, beautiful on the nose, very pure with layers of wonderfully scented dark cherries, creme de cassis, flowers and bay leaves. The palate is fine, refreshing and harmonious, and the tannins are refined and supple in the mouth with a fine hint of acids and a long, smooth aftertaste. The Cabernet Franc provides beautiful complexity and personality with this wine.

Château Rocheyron owes its name to the location, Rocheyron. It is located next to Château Laroque and the vineyard classified as Grand Cru Classé. In 2010 the two friends Silvio Denz, co-owner of Clos d'Agon in Spain (Catalonia) and Peter Sisseck, oenologist of the Clos d'Agon and famous with his Pingus, Flor de Pingus and PSI decided to open Château Rocheyron under the AOC Saint-Emilion Grand Cru.

The Grandcru wines from Château Rocheyron gave Sisseck the chance to make great wines in Bordeaux with the almost manic perfection. The wine has been on the market since vintage 2011 and without exception get high scores of 90 +/- 100
