2015 Maius Classic Priorat Magnum

The grapes are harvested exclusively by hand. The Garnacha grapes were harvested during the first week of October, while the Carignan and Cabernet Sauvignon were harvested later during the month. After the stealing, stainless steel grapes become cold pre-fermented at 14 degrees Celsius for 3 days to accentuate the aromatic expression before the fermentation takes place. The alcoholic fermentation takes place at a maximum temperature of 28 degrees Celsius. A good maceration gives the wine a good dose of tannin structure and anthocyanins. The Maius Classic stays for 12 months in oak, 75% in French oak and 25% in American oak barrels.

The Maius Classic is a blend of typical priorat composition namely 50% Carignan, 40% Grenache and Cabernet Sauvignon 10%. This is an absolute classic Priorat wine with modern accents. In the glass, the wine has a beautiful red color with a beautiful blue shine and beautiful tears. In the nose the Maius Classic has burgundy-like scents but then that of a top burgundy. We smell beautiful red fruit, leers, espresso, a hint of wood and chocolate. The wine is robust but fresh at the same time as the tones and flavors of balsamic vinegar and mineral accents typical of a good priorat. The Maius Classic is a very elegant and complex wine with a perfect acidity. The wine has a long lasting aftertaste and is one of the best Priorat wines for us when you consider price / quality. The 2015 vintage of the Classic has received 92 Pēnin points.
