Marengo Mario Barolo Bricco Delle Viole DOCG

A hidden jewel. The Bricco Viole is a very fine Barolo vineyard that translates as 'Top of the Violet Hill' and is one of the highest vineyards in the Barolo commune region, 400-450 meters above sea level. Marco's package is blessed with a beautiful piece of 50-70 year old vines. The aging is 24 months in barriques, with 25% new oak. The wine has a deep ruby red color. Nose with violet, mint, spicy and balsamic hints. On the palate it is juicy with a good structure and full body. The final is long and spicy. The drinking window of this wine is 2019-2028.

Winery Marengo Mario

Marco Marengo makes exciting wines, but is still one of those among the radar producers and as a result, the wines have enormous value. After years of working with his father Mario, he finally left it alone in 2001 when his father died. With his small stock of 6ha, Marco makes some of the most stylish and distinctive wines in the region. From Dolcetto to the fantastic Barolo, Le Brunate - they show the elegance and drinkability that great La Morra wines should define. The Brunate, for which Marco has built a great reputation, is the jewel in his crown. It is one of the largest crus in Barolo and the typical La Morra-style Barolo with its ethereal perfume and finesse tinted with a complex kindness and refined but powerful tannins. Marco owns two plots of vines ranging from 15 to 70 years old. After a soft, slow fermentation and maceration, the wines are aged in oak barriques, with an absolute maximum of 25% new wood, for 24 months.

Vineyard for 2015 M. Marengo Barolo Bricco delle Viole DOCG
