2015 Château de Lavagnac La Grande Reserve Bordeaux Supérieur

The Château de Lavagnac La Grande Reserve is a special cuvée that is only made in the good years. The 2015 vintage was a great year and this quintessential Bordeaux Supérieur is an example of Value for Money. A lot of wine for the money. Like the La Grande Dame, this Grande Reserve is a Merlot-driven blend of around 75-80% Merlot supplemented with Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. The wine is organically produced and has been aged for 12 months in new French oak. It has developed quickly with ripe fruit now mature and tannins that have softened. The wine has a deep red color with a wonderfully accessible nose of fresh raspberries with hints of graphite and stone (mineral) ripe red fruit, slightly spicy with hints of vanilla and delicate wood.
