The Château de Lavagnac La Grande Reserve is a special cuvée that is only made in the good years. The 2015 vintage was a great year and this quintessential Bordeaux Supérieur is an example of Value for Money. A lot of wine for the money. Like the La Grande Dame, this Grande Reserve is a blend of 90% Merlot with 10% Cabernet Franc. The wine is produced organically and has had 12 months of education in new French oak. It has developed rapidly with ripe fruit now mature and tannins softening. In the nose wonderfully accessible fresh raspberries with hints of graphite and stone (mineral). Medium to full-bodied with ripe fruit tones and a nice touch of spice. Drink from 2020/2021 and certainly a decade to enjoy.
