The Barolo Riserva Vignolo is the top model of the family. Cavallotto. The fermentation for the Riserva Vignolo takes place with native yeasts for 20-35 days. The wine is then traditionally aged in Slavonian oak barrels for 5 years and then bottled for another 12 months before this top Barolo hit comes on the market. The Riserva is only made in the top years and is the successor of vintage 2013. This long aging means that it can be called a Riserva and from 2015 7,326 bottles were made and each bottle is numbered. The bottle was only released in the spring of 2021.

From this cru come wines with an excellent structure with tannins that are soft and sweet from an early age. The perfume is typically intense and open, evolving into an intensely spiced fruit. The first aromas are fruity and are followed by floral aspects, then spicy, all open and intense. In the mouth the wine is complex, elegant, soft, with lots of red ripe fruit, cherries, licorice, light mineral notes and beautiful slightly sweet tannins in the long lasting aftertaste. young age is very enjoyable. Delicious with red meat in general, but also with hard and aged cheeses. Desserts with dark chocolate are also a good match, but we personally think this is more a "vino da meditazione" or a wine for meditation to enjoy intensely.

Tenuta Vitivinicola Bricco Boschis, owned by the Cavallotto brothers, is five kilometers from the fortified town of Barolo. The epicenter of Piedmontese viticulture where traditions are passed on from generation to generation. The company is currently owned by Giuseppe and Alfio Cavallotto. Both oenologist. It used to be very common to work the land and sell the grapes to commercial winemakers. It was like that at Cavallotto until 1944. In that year it was decided to make wine from the entire harvest under their own label. Since then, the name Cavallotto has been permanently established.

For 5 generations, the Cavallotto family has not only made fantastic Barolos, but also beautiful Langhe Nebbiolo and Langhe Bianco. The company was already a trendsetter in the 1970s to grow grapes using new techniques without adding chemicals. Brothers Alfio and Giuseppe (both oenologists) and sister Laura now run the wine estate, and not without success: Cavallotto is praised in many trade magazines for his Barolo.
