Paolo Scavino, an Italian winery of unprecedented class, produced this fantastic Barolo Bric del Fiasc. In the Fiasc vineyard, the Tortonian and Helvetian soils (white-gray limestone and yellow-gray sandstone) intersect and combine great finesse and power. The vineyard is seen as one of the most complex terroirs, probably due to its central location in the Barolo region. This Bric del Fiasc Barolo fully represents the classical expression of the Nebbiolo that quietly needs the time to develop all its complexity. This powerful, juicy and muscular wine full of complexity has a beautiful deep red color and solid wood tones. The texture of this Barolo is its texture: earthy impressions, density of fruit, lively and refined tannins. Beautiful structure supported by a pleasant acidity. On the nose complex, mineral and balsamic-like with the typical tones of small red fruit (cherry, blackberry) and licorice for this wine.

Like many other wines from this winery, this Barolo also received an excellent Parker rating of 94 points, where the wine was assessed in June 2018 with the comment: "This is an age-worthy Barolo that reveals depth and determination"

97/100 - Wine Enthusiast

This wine goes well with red meat (grilled / roasted), lamb, fur game and cheeses that are rich and powerful in taste.

The Nebbiolo grapes (the noble grape of Italy) used for this delicious wine are picked early October. Fermentation on stainless steel follows later. The malolactic fermentation takes place in oak barrels and then a 12-month lag on French barriques. The wine then remains in large French oak barrels for 12 months before bottling. Finally, another year of aging in the bottle.
