2015 Lopez de Heredia Vina Cubillo Tondonia

In one of the most prestigious vineyards in La Rioja comes this Vina Cubillo from Tondonia. The Vina Cubillo Crianza is their most famous wine where the grapes come from the Cubillo vineyard. The Cubillo is a blend of the usual 70% Tempranillo, 20% Garnacho, 5% Graciano and 5% Mazuelo grapes fermented in old oak barrels with natural yeasts and further aged in barrel for three years. After this, the wine can mature even further. The color is bright ruby red. Lingering aroma with a consistent texture with some hints of licorice. The taste is soft, fresh and wonderfully persistent. This classic Rioja has nothing to do with the modern Riojas that mature in French oak. A wine for lovers of classic Riojas!
