2014 Remirez de Ganuza Gran Reserva Blanco

The last white top cuvée from Remirez de Ganuza. From a small vineyard at an altitude of 600 m in Samaniego. Only vieilles vignes Viura. Only 3000 bottles of this wine are produced and demand far exceeds need. In advance, the wine comes with a lot of praise on the market and the press writes of a 'game changer'.

The Remirez de Ganuza Gran Reserva Blanco comes from a plot that is only slightly larger than one hectare. It is located at an altitude of 600 m above sea level. in the hills of the Sierra de Cantabria. The grapes are picked in small baskets, followed by a double selection table in the bodega as with the red wine, so only the most beautiful berries go into this top wine. After maceration and fermentation, a crianza follows in new French oak barrels of 18 to 20 months. The wine was bottled in September 2014 and kept in the bodega until early 2023 so that it can only be drunk on the market.

The 2014 Remirez de Ganuza Gran Reserva Blanco is fresh with a slightly oxidative character with bitter notes, mineral, white fruit. Fantastic aromas of a great white Rioja: reminiscences of great white Burgundy both in the nose and mouth. Spicy and floral notes interspersed with white pome fruit, exotic fruits and an elegant woody touch that will merge perfectly in the future. Broad in the mouth with plenty of substance and firmness.
