2014 Monogram Cuvee Millesimato Franciacorta Brut

Another beautiful sparkling wine from Monogram winery. A delicious bubble, creamy sparkling with a fine perlage. The Millesimato Franciacorta has a straw yellow color with great and intense scents of ripe fruit and citrus. Full body, full of flavor with exotic fruit, peach. Lush, smooth, intense and spicy with good acidity. Best served chilled (preferably between 4 and 6 degrees).

This traditional wine is made in Franciacorta DOCG which is located in the heart of Lombardy (Northern Italy). Winery Monogram, part of Castel Faglia, makes this Millesimato Franciacorta Brut from 90% Chardonnay and 10% Pinot Blanc grapes. The harvest is done exclusively by hand, maturation 'sur lie' for at least 36 months. and then several years of bottle aging.

This Millesimato is excellent as an aperitif and also tastes delicious with various types of fish (oysters, caviar, raw fish) and white meat. The wine also comes into its own very well with drinks due to a festive occasion. Made with the same grapes as a champagne and the same production process is used here. Actually the only big difference between a Franciacorta and a Champagne is the price!!
