Valentin and Enciso have more than 33 years of experience and background in Rioja and by merging their first names, the name Valenciso was created. Founded in 1998, Valenciso is located in Ollauri, just 4 km from Haro in the heart of Rioja Alta. Valenciso aims to express the elegance and delicacy of the Northern Tempranillo and focuses on producing premium, unique and elegant Tempranillos.Valenciso makes the difference by integrating organic and biodynamic practices in the vineyard, through fermentation in concrete vats, and by aging the wine only in French oak barrels.
The Valenciso Reserva 10 Years (Anos Despues) is a 100% pure Tempranillo from the calcareous soils around Haro from the Rioja Alta. CompañÃa Bodeguera de Valenciso consciously opts for quality instead of quantity, so aggressive pruning takes place (yield only 38hl per hectare). This unique project in Rioja Alta initially had only one goal; making one wine from just tempranillo and then marketing an excellent Rioja Reserva. The grapes are harvested manually. The wine is only bottled 10 years after the harvest. Fermentation for 60 months in concrete vats. Aging for 40 months in wooden barrels, so a total of 10 years, also explains the title of this unique Rioja. This 2012 was therefore only available at the end of 2022.

Winemakers with over 25 years of experience in La Rioja. In 1998 they revived an old winery and gave it the name Valenciso which is a combination of the two surnames (Valentin and Enciso). The vineyards and bodega are located in Ollauri, 4 km from Haro in the north of La Rioja Alta. An area that differs from the rest of the Rioja by a climate with Atlantic influences and Mediterranean heat. The vineyards are located on a clay-calcareous terroir, so ideal for growing grapes. CompañÃa Bodeguera de Valenciso works on a small scale and authentic with a lot of passion. The wine continues to receive international high ratings with 90+ ratings from Penin and Parker.
