2011 Garbole Hurlo Limited Edition

The godfathers of the Amarone are without a doubt Quintarelli, the legendary Romano Dal Forno and now Garbole boutique winery. These are the undisputed toppers among the Valpolicella and Amarone wines. At Garbole, wine is made in an almost manual manner, with quality and not quantity. The entire process in the vineyard takes place entirely manually and grape by grape is controlled and only the top goes into their wines and the unselected grapes is used as (very expensive) fertilizer for the vineyard.

The goal of the Garbole is undoubtedly ambitious: to produce not only the best Italian wines, but also the best recioto wines, the best Valpolicella and the best amarone wine. Garbole's motto is "Create excellent wines without compromise; Autonomy and creative freedom the founding values"

The Hurlo is the top model among Amarone wines and this quirky wine cannot be described. This is a secret that you can only unravel by tasting it. Are you ready? This Amarone is a blend of Corvina, Saccola, Pontedarola and Negrara grown on the 10-hectare estate, grapes are dried for three months. After fermentation, this wine matures for 7 years in new oak barrels of 350 liters. After this, at least 1 year of rest in the bottle (the 2011 has been in Garbole's cellars for almost 2 years). In addition, the bottles are scattered slowly and in very small numbers among a very selected group of importers.

This Hurlo has strong aromas ranging from sweet cherry, heavy berry, licorice, chocolate, raisin, blueberry and meditarene herbs. A very deep and structured red wine that perfectly combines her intensity with her extreme elegance, a strong concentration of fruit and a delicious softness in the mouth. This wine is difficult to describe because with every sip something else comes up but what makes the wine so beautiful is its purity and firmness in combination with freshness.

The Hurlo bottle is numbered and provided with a sealed authenticity certificate and is in a beautiful wooden box.
