Lopez de Heredia really needs no introduction. The vineyards are located on the right bank of the Ebro River in Haro ( Rioja Alta). In addition to their great Reserva wines, they also make a red Gran Reserva in very small quantities, two types of white Riojas, often 10 years or older, and a rose that has matured for a very long time. These versions are extremely scarce and collector's items and the Netherlands only receives a handful of bottles here every year.

This package contains 5 bottles of the Lopez de Heredia Vina Tondonia Reserva Tinto and 1 extremely scarce bottle of the 2001 Lopez de Heredia Viña Tondonia Gran Reserva Tinto 98/100 Parker & 99/100 Suckling The 2001 De De Viña Tondonia Gran Reserva is the successor from the 1995. The Gran Reserva Tinto is only made in the absolute top years and receives an extremely long, very quiet education in the caves of Lopez de Heredia where the wines are sometimes given decades to mature in unique conditions. This wine has developed fantastically during this very long bottle maturation of approximately 20 years. An extremely low quantity is made and it is issued on a very limited basis per year. For the Netherlands that is around 24 bottles, so this is one of the most extreme collector's items there is.
